Monthly Book Club

We do a book club differently.  Instead of reading the same book, we read different books that are in the same genre or topic which changes monthly.  We meet on the last Wed at 4:30 PM to share why we would or would not recommend the books we read.  There is a table outside the library with selected books by genre/topic or feel free to check out a book in the library.

Not every hero story includes a world war, a cruel enemy, daring secret missions, and a hidden code for you to uncover. But Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s story does.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s story helps children understand faith, perseverance, and suffering in an approachable way. Readers will be inspired, as he was, to enjoy life during good times and to stand firm in faith during the hardest of times.

A Movie!
On Feb. 29, 1948, Richard Wurmbrand was arrested by the secret police. His crime? Leading Christian worship and witnessing — both of which were illegal under Romania’s atheistic Communist regime. Because of Richard’s faithfulness to Christ, he endured 14 years of prison and torture, while his wife, Sabina, suffered three years of forced labor and prison. Yet they emerged not with a bitter spirit but with a story of victorious faith. This biography explores the inspiring lives of Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand, combining their complete stories into a single volume for the first time. Voice of the Martyrs.com
