Monthly Book Club

We do a book club differently.  Instead of reading the same book, we read different books that are in the same genre or topic which changes monthly.  We share what we read in the MBC Reading Book Club message group. There is a table outside the library with selected books by genre/topic or feel free to check out a book in the library.

This is an older book but has a wonderful history of feminism in the United States.  How life was lived and how feminism came about.  Life is about choices and the idea that women can do it all, is not true.

Kate Kelley  highly recommends this book for all ladies.
Women are an essential element in church history. Just as Deborah, Esther, and the New Testament Marys helped shape Bible history, so the women of the Reformed church have helped to make its history great. Readers are introduced to twelve sixteenth-century women who are not as well known today.  They provide an example to Christians today of strong service to Christ and His church, these influential, godly women were devoted to Reformation truth, in many cases provided support for their husbands, practiced hospitality, and stewarded their intellectual abilities. Their strength and bravery will inspire you, and your understanding of church history will become richer as you learn how God used them to further the Reformation through their work and influence. - Amazon.com

A Movie!
On Feb. 29, 1948, Richard Wurmbrand was arrested by the secret police. His crime? Leading Christian worship and witnessing — both of which were illegal under Romania’s atheistic Communist regime. Because of Richard’s faithfulness to Christ, he endured 14 years of prison and torture, while his wife, Sabina, suffered three years of forced labor and prison. Yet they emerged not with a bitter spirit but with a story of victorious faith. This biography explores the inspiring lives of Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand, combining their complete stories into a single volume for the first time. Voice of the Martyrs.com
